Physical Therapy Gateway to Wellness
Physical Therapy is an ancillary department that serves out-patients and in-patients. Physical Therapists take a hands-on approach beginning with examination and then treatment of the immediate problem. Types of problems commonly treated in our physical therapy department include back pain, sports injuries, orthopedic surgeries, stroke victims and chronic conditions including arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, and so on.
Our physical therapy department works with patients to increase muscle strength, endurance, and to decrease pain. Patients increase their movement independence by improving balance, flexibility, and coordination.
Patients are taught how to care for themselves through proper exercises to gain strength and mobility, prevent recurring injury, and improve posture.
One Registered Physical Therapist and two Certified Physical Therapist Assistants comprise the Physical Therapy Department.
Dian Addington, PT,CLWT is certified in wound care and lymphedema treatment by the International Lymphedema and Wound Care Training Institute (ILWTI).
We also offer a women’s health program dealing with urinary incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Speech Therapy includes the evaluation and treatment of speech disorders, swallow problems, and cognitive issues. Kimberly Lankas, CCC-SLP, our Speech Therapist, treats both inpatients and outpatients.
