WHAT IS DECATUR HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION?

The Decatur Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit corporation which was organized in October of 1986. The governing body is the Board of Directors who are Decatur County residents appointed by the Decatur County Commissioners. They include two hospital board members, two Good Samaritan home advisory board members, one county commissioner and four members from the general public.

Serving as ex-officio members of the Board are the administrators of the Decatur County Hospital and the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
The Decatur Healthcare Foundation is organized to collect and distribute private gifts to meet the community’s healthcare needs and has 501(c)(3) status which enables your gifts to be tax deductible.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION?

Provides loans to Decatur County residents wishing to pursue careers in a health related profession.
To purchase needed equipment in order to better meet the challenges of quality care now and in the future for Decatur County Residents.
Since 1986 the foundation has assisted with many projects including student loans, purchase of ambulance and rescue equipment, doctor recruitment, and funds for renovations at the Decatur County Hospital, Good Samaritan Center, and the Hospitality House.
